Co-Diagnosis and Treatment Planning

Developing a treatment plan using co-diagnostic dentistry means that we understand that more goes into your dental treatment decision than a simple diagnosis. Mount Rose Dental focuses on your needs using the latest in dental technology to ensure that your diagnosis is as comprehensive as possible. We take the time to educate and show you precisely what you're looking at, going through the risks and benefits of treatment so that you are part of the process. We want to make sure that each step you're taking makes sense for your individual oral health journey.

Preventative Treatment

The best way to avoid uncomfortable oral issues and future dental expenses is to stay committed to preventative dentistry. Routine checkups, cleanings, x-rays, and proper at-home oral cleaning protect your teeth from decay. We offer prophylaxis, fluoride therapy, and sealants, each of which can solve different oral health problems, and together they work to keep your teeth healthy and shining. We also spend time assessing your current health and discuss individualized plans for maintaining your health. With preventative dentistry, you can have a beautiful smile that lasts for a lifetime.

Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry

Restorative and cosmetic dentistry aims to rehabilitate the functional and aesthetic properties of your teeth and mouth as well as manage oral diseases. Its overall purpose is to improve and maintain the proper functionality of the mouth to prevent discomfort and pain. We can bond tooth-colored composite resin or porcelain to your teeth to strengthen them and create a beautiful natural smile. For more complex cases or patients embarrassed by their smiles, we offer complete smile makeovers using augmented reality smile design to give them the smile they've always wanted.

Orthodontic Services - Invisalign

Are you or your teen ready for braces but cringe at the idea of traditional metal braces in your mouth? At Mount Rose Dental, we treat many patients who need braces but are seeking an alternative to conventional braces. Invisalign is a comfortable, almost invisible alternative to long-term metal braces. Instead of attaching brackets to the teeth and using wires to tighten and shift teeth, Invisalign uses a set of custom-fitted clear aligners, each of which applies gentle, consistent pressure to straighten teeth gradually. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign can't be seen easily even when the patient is smiling or talking, won't trap food between teeth and wires, and can be removed for cleaning and flossing.

Microscope Enhanced Dentistry

The use of a microscope for dental procedures provides 400 times more visual accuracy than the naked eye and 100 times more information than traditional dental loupes. Magnification improves the accuracy of tooth preparations and helps to prevent damage to adjacent teeth and connective tissue. Dental procedures are more thorough when done under high magnification, so we use the microscope for most of our services, particularly restorative and endodontic services. For cosmetic cases, we utilize the microscope and surgical loupes to ensure facial harmony.

Endodontics – Root Canal Therapy

Endodontic procedures include every treatment involving the inner tissues of the teeth. Teeth are formed from the inside out; when a tooth matures, it has a hollow space in the center filled with dental pulp. The enamel can be damaged by decay, cracks in the tooth, or traumatic blows. When the pulp is compromised, the tooth can start to feel increasingly uncomfortable with time. To stop this process, we perform a procedure known as a root canal where we enter the pulp space, remove the diseased contents, disinfect the canals, and fill the area down to the tip of the root.

Periodontal Services

Gum disease is one of the most common diseases in the world. This is primarily due to the symptoms of gum disease often going unnoticed until it's too late. Routine oral hygiene and regular dental checkups and cleanings can help you avoid gum disease, but when your teeth have been neglected, we have treatment that can help. The gums and bones are the foundation of your bite and smile, similar to the construction of a house. Maintaining your foundation will help you keep your teeth for a lifetime. Some patients may require cleanings every 3-4 months to slow or stop the progression of gum disease. Not only is it impossible to perform all steps of your treatment in a single appointment, but it gives us a chance to confirm that treatment is working effectively. We'll modify our treatment accordingly if we need to take additional or alternative steps to reduce your gum disease symptoms.

Surgical Services

There are times when patients have dental health issues that require surgery. The surgical services available at Mount Rose Dental consist of Implant Placement, Guided Implant Surgery, Extractions, Root Canal Surgery, Root Coverage and Crown Lengthening Surgery, and Periodontal Surgery. Dr. David Black is a highly trained specialist that takes your safety and comfort very seriously.

Augmented Reality Smile Design

Augmented reality smile design allows you to use the power of visualization to realize your smile's full potential. Through AI smile simulation, we can create different smile simulations and dental mock-ups before starting treatment. We use photos, intraoral scans, 3D x-ray, 3D facial scans, along with the most advanced AI technology to quickly show you the size, color, and smile shape that you've always wanted. We consider your whole facial harmony and overall aesthetics as we guide you in this process.

Complete Smile Makeover

While your oral health might be in good condition, you may still see things you'd like to change when you smile in the mirror. Maybe your teeth are slightly crooked or discolored. Perhaps you have a chipped tooth or a gap in your smile. If you're lucky, we can correct the problem with one simple cosmetic dental procedure. Mount Rose Dental offers complete smile makeovers for patients who would like to address their entire smile wish list. A complete smile makeover is a process of improving the smile's appearance through one or more cosmetic dental procedures such as porcelain veneers, dental bonding, Invisalign, tooth implants, replacements of unsightly crowns or fillings, or tooth whitening. This process addresses discolored, damaged, crooked, or missing teeth.

Tooth Replacement - Implants

When you experience tooth loss, it is essential to prevent neighboring teeth from shifting and causing additional complications. Ideally, each missing tooth should be replaced to maintain a stable bite and preserve the remaining teeth. A dental implant is the only tooth replacement procedure that replaces the entire tooth's structure, not just what is visible above the surface of the gums. They help patients regain full smiles that last for a lifetime. In some cases, two implants can replace three or four teeth. We also offer different partial or complete dentures to meet our patients' unique needs.

TMJ Therapy

The TMJ (temporomandibular joint) is the most complex joint in the human body. TMJ disorders can cause pain in your jaw and the muscles that control jaw movement. Proper treatment requires a detailed evaluation and often multiple modes of therapy over time. Treatment options for pain may include custom splint therapy, drug therapy, and self-care. In most cases, the pain and discomfort associated with TMJ disorders is temporary and can be relieved with well-managed comprehensive oral rehabilitation.
